Dr. Sacks received his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine. His MPH and Ph.D. Degrees are from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is board certified in Occupational Medicine and Family Practice. Additionally, he is a Diplomat of the American Board of Utilization/Quality Assurance and the American Board of Forensic Medicine. He served as Senior Vice President of Beech Street, Inc. prior to becoming President of Travelers Medical Management Services (Insurance industry). He was previously President of EOS Medical Management Services (a division of Health Net). He has also served as a Consulting Medical Director for Levi Strauss, U.S. Steel, Bethlehem Steel and Steelcase. At the present time, he is Consulting Medical Director of Occupational Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Sacks is active in organizations and was President and Chairman of the Western Occupational Medical Association and served on the Board of Directors of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Dr. Sacks recently served (4 years) on the American Board of Quality as editor of the magazine “FOCUS”. He has been confirmed as a Senior Scholar at the Jefferson Medical School in the Department of Health Policy.
