February 15, 2023

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announce it is putting all surprise billing disputes regarding payment determinations on hold. CMS will now evaluate and update and its independent dispute resolution guidance, systems, and documents to comply with the Texas court's decision last week to vacate portions of the final rule. CMS directed all Independent Dispute Entities (IDRE) to recall all determinations made after February 6. CMS said that IDRE can continue working through other part process while they wait for further guidance from the government.
